Jacqueline Kapur dons many hats – entrepreneur, fashion designer, equestrian sportsperson, restaurateur, and mom. One of the various very few girls solo-marketers inside the USA, but is not Jacqueline’s simplest claim to fame. Her dating with India itself is special.
Born and brought up in Germany, Jacqueline moved to Puducherry in 1989 with her then-boyfriend Dilip Kapur, who founded the lifestyle brand Hidesign. She had also studied Japanese at the University of Bochum and the Japanese Language Institute in Tokyo, Japan. After getting married to Dilip, Jacqueline began Hidesign’s garment division and oversaw and designed jackets. She is now famous as the founder of Ayesha Accessories, a present-day fashion logo for young girls. In 1999, Jacqueline opened Casablanca, one of India’s first multi logo department stores. In 2000, she opened ‘Titanic,’ a garment outlet in Puducherry that houses European patterns at affordable expenses.
Having made Puducherry her home, Jacqueline calls herself a ‘Tamil point.’ She lives with 5 dogs, 15 cats, and 26 horses on the Red Earth Riding School, which she hooked up in 2000 with some friends.
In her fifties, Jacqueline runs a BnB visitor residence, ‘The Black Box’ made of recycled transport bins, and opened a 50-seater informal dining bistro in Puducherry known as ‘PY Love (in image) Café.’ She has, for my part, designed the usage of recycled furniture and mirrors.

She says, “I am often perceived as an intruder; however, I even have usually felt welcomed. But I think ladies are but to take over main roles in Indian personnel.”

After her divorce in 2016, Jacqueline tells YourStory, there was a drop in enterprise for a quick period.
